In Bloom

All my plants are in full bloom and i'm lovin it.
When I woke up this morning looked out my kitchen window there was a red bird sitting on the window seal, of corse I didn't have my camera at hand, I was not awake enought yet to think of that. So I grabed my camera and went out side, there he is eating the grass seed my dh just put down the day before, I just didn't have the heart to make him stop, so breakfast is on me little bird.

Guess What I've Been Up To

Couldn't you just move right in this doll house.
The other day a lady came into the shop and she had the best idea to do with this house.
Remove the walls from the inside and put in your television. What a great idea to hide your TV and it's big enought to hold a large TV at that. This doll house opens from the front, just pull on the post by the fromt door.

Painting!
My husband and I do all the painting of the
shabby chic furniture at The Vintage Attic.
The store is stocked and my dh has taken another load of furniture up today.
I’ll be in the work shop today painting while he works the store.

Freedom Is Not Free

Washington Monument
I was in ah at the beauty of these Monuments & Memorials in our Great Nations Capital.
Jefferson Memorial
Lincoln Memorial
White House
Capital
It was so serial to touch the wall at the Vietnam Momorial. To know that all these names had faces and familys and gave there ALL.

Out of all the magnificent sights we seen in Washington D C this was by far the worst one. The Reflecting Pool looked nothing like it did in the movie Forrest Gump, you know when Jenny ran through the water to get to Forrest. Now its just a pond. I hope I just cought it at a bad time, I hope it will be cleaned and brought back to its glory.

Happy Memorial Day to all who has served our Country. To the ones who came home with the imprint of war on their lives forever, to the ones who are still fighting for our Great Nation and for the ones who gave all .
To my Dad who served in the Army, to my father-in-Law who served in the Army during the Korean War, to my husband who served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, to my step daughter Heather who is serving in the Navy and has just returned from the Iraq War, to my niece Misty who is serving in the Air Force. I Thank You from the bottom of my heart, Because I know Freedom Is Not Free!
God Bless
Melissa

Some Cool Old Stuff

Some cool old stuff I picked up at an auction the other day, 1950's squeak toy, victorian hair brush, big ben clocks, old english chintz dish & some really cool cameras.
To keep or not to keep that is the question, I just don't know the answer to that yet. I go through this every time I buy for my shop. I collect old stuff all kinds of cool old stuff, I don't like my house to look cluttered, just well put together. So I'm now at that point if I keep something then something else has to go, how do I let something go, something that has given me joy as I pass it in my home and it brings a smile to my face, but on the other hand to bring a new item in that will capture my attention and make me smile as I pass it each day in my home would be nice too.
