with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard

Purposeful Stuff

The weather yesterday was sooo beautiful the temp was 88 . I worked in my garden all day, planting 4 types of tomatoes, radishes, onions, cucumbers, sweet red peppers, jalapeno peppers, cayenne red pepers & cantaloup.. My veggie garden use to be my flower garden, I still have some flowers but for the most part 95% is veggies, I think with all the colors of the veggies it will be just as beautiful..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I collect stuff and when I say stuff it can be anything that I think I might be able to reuse.. Like the windows in the pictures above. That end of my garden does not get as much sun as I would like it to and not much can be planted there. I didn't want to waste the space, so my handy husband and I made this window greenhouse, we hinged the top for easy access. I am hoping it will contain heat so plants can grow inside of it.. Can't wait for my first cookout, the window greenhouse will make for great conversation. Just to let you know its not finished I will have to add embellishments. So I'm off to my stack of stuff ;-) .
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I found in my stack of stuff I collect some large square oak post, I had my handy man cut them to a 3x3 blocks & smooth the edges. I painted them added some embellishment and mod podged then. Now I have some quite beautiful paper weights.

Coming Up Roses

Friday night I had a jewely party/girls night out at my home. I went earlier to pick up fresh flowers (found these white rose at Sams club 25 for $19.95 great deal). I placed them all in vases around the house, but I had some left and no more vases to put them in. I searched high and low and could not find another vase. I racked my brain trying figure out what I could use....
Then it hit me a sea shell just turn it upside down, well the water ran out, so I propped it up with another shell.. It was a hit, everyone just loved it and so did I...

Another project finished.. My message board...
At my shop ( The Vintage Attic ) we sale alot of painted white frames. I just added cardboard to the back, some padding and fabric, glued it altogether, added ribbons and buttons , stapled the back of it onto the frame. I'm lovin it. It's hanging on the wall in my craft/scrapbook/computer
room..

Another Project Finished

Ta Da.. At last my hutch I wanted for my craft room is finished, it's in the room loaded with craft and scrapbook items.. Now I'm ready to get busy on some projects I'v been wanting to do but waiting until I'm more organize..

This is the top of the hutch, my dear husband had to build me a new top, this one didn't have a top. I am very thrifty that way, I look past all the flaws because I have a wonderful husband that will fix it, that way I can save money, but not always time...

this was a picture of my craft room before the redo.. This photo was taken right after we moved my craft room from downstairs to upstairs into a spare room. I haven't put it all away yet so it wasn't really this bad..

Don't Pass Me By

On this jar I used a page out of a vintage book(that was no longer readable), an old key, a necklace pendent that was unwanted, a piece of blue ribbon & a stamp of bird on its nest. Now this is a jar I would love to use in my cottage home...

This is a bit of the same, just a tad less, a page from a vintage book , robbins egg blue ribbon & a vintage prism...

This primitive jar I used black & tan check fabric, natural jute cord, a vintage photo hooked with rusty wire & a vintage key...

This candle same as first, just a bit closer for you see better...
song book pages would be beautiful...

This is the original candle & label...
Don’’t pass me by"" said the candle, as it was sat back down on the store shelf...
I see this all the time, someone will pick up a candle for themselves or as a gift and sit it back down on the shelf, saying I love this scent but the jar looks to country or I like a more primitive jar. Well I have just the thing for you…… buy the candle that you love and decorate the jar for just pennies with items you have laying around your house... When the candle has burnt down remove the items and reuse, always reuse!!
Ok, a challenge, lets see what you got... I what to see your redone candle label...

The Purple Bag

Something about the purple bag. As I walk out of the scrapbook store I shop at carrying this purple bag as if it was a high end handbag. Well, it might as well be, because inside this bag is not just paper and glitter glue. No its imagination, its where these items can take you and the satisfaction they will give you when you get there. It's seeing your end result.

As I pull up in my driveway, get out of the car, grabbing the purple bag, hoping the neighbors see the purple bag ( you know what I mean, you want people to see your high end bag). No neighbors out today just my son and husband. The only two people in my life I would like to hide my purple bag from.
My son: Mom went to the scrapbook store!
Me: shhhh!!
My husband: What in the world did they have that you don’t already have in your scrapbook room.
Me: new paper.
My husband: you just got another rack to put all your paper on, why do you need more paper..
Me: Because it makes me happy!!!
My husband: ok then honey, if your happy I’m happy.
Me: kiss & hug, I’ll be in my scrapbook room, Later.
Yes, we go through this almost every time I go to the scrapbook store.

When I was moving my scrapbook room from downstairs to upstairs, my husband was helping me, bad idea, I should of did that myself . He said: how did you get all of this in the house without me seeing. I said: one piece at a time. Now he’ll sing that Johnny Cash song to me " One Piece At A Time". He thinks he's funny...

A Friends New Digs

This is some of the loot I came back with: a vintage pin cushion, Daily Bread Plate, vintage brass tissue box with lots of flowers, last on this picture but not least one large vintage braided rug. If I had to pick just one I couldn't but however the rug and the plate I would not of slept well if I didn't buy them.
Here's Bobby, a good friend of my. She just opened a country cottage store in side her parents flea market. I'm sooo happy for her, It has been a long time dream of hers and at last it had come to past.
Here is her space, the camera wasn't able to get it all in, so this is half of her space, I should say. Tanner and I drove for 1 hour to get to her shop after his soccer game on Saturday (that we lost by 1 point in the last inning). :-(
So if ever on Rt 30 in Everett Pa stop by and say hi to her, tell her Melissa sent you. ( I don't think that will get you a discount but it sure would put a smile on her face).

officially a soccer mom

#10 in play

I am officially a soccer mom, Tanner’s first game was Saturday. Tanner has never played soccer on a league before, just in our back yard. He has always wanted to play, so this year we signed him up. Now I wish I would have done this years ago, every day he counts the days until practice.
We showed up at the game with rain coats carrying my lawn chair and a blanket. It has been raining heavily all night and now it was just at a mist, the field was muddy, we thought the game would be called, but they played. I was so glad they played, the kids didn't care if it was raining why should we.
So his first game was Saturday he has never played and one of the moms asked me if I was sure he never played before, I said yes I’m sure. She said: I would of never known it if you didn’t tell me, He’s not bad. Well, they didn’t win but they sure played a good game. I was so proud.
