with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard

Recycling Rocks

A couple of months ago we had our hallway painted by D&D Decorating, this beautiful willow tree green from Duron. After the paint job was done, we put up new light switches and electrical plates, but I never put back the 1970's door bell cover. I just didn’t have the heart to put back that awful brown and gold looking monstrosity. It sat in our work shop for weeks. Until one night I woke up with an idea, I’ll paint it and put fabric over the ugly brown and gold mesh mess.
Ta Da here it is, I just love it... Recycling Rocks!!

Before and After

I just love this stamp, somthing about the Eiffel Tower & Paris that makes a woman feel all romantic in side.
This is a picture of my desk, yes my desk. Isn't it beautiful with all the color on it. I could just scream " clean this mess up"!!...

This is the last I will see of this miss. Today is the day I'll get started, can't say when I'll finish but I have to start somewhere.

My husband, the handyman. Jim was working hard on hanging my D.C. Big Flea big find, this toleware chandelier.
He got the chandelier all hardwired into the ceiling, now lets put the light bulbs in, hit the switch he said, nothing happened, just then Tanner yelled "my light went out". The chandelier knocked out a breaker in the panel box.
I'm so blessed to be married to a mr. fix it. Jim took two hours figuring out how to fix the problem and another three hours rewiring the chandelier ( Oh yea that was counting the two trips to lowes).

My new Rachel Ashwell valance from Target. I hate to say this but I just love target, especially after today. My first stop looking for a valance and Target had just what I was looking for, just wait until you see what else I got there.

I added some lace that I already had stored away for that rainy day when I might need it. I don't like to throw thigs out because I might need it some day. See Mr. Handyman, I saved us money today by keeping this lace curtain...

Here it is my other Target find an Eiffel Tower. I see these on other peoples blogs and wonder where in the world did they get it, Target thats where...

Hours later, it works wooo hooo I'm so thrilled..

( sorry this pic is so dark)
Here it is, all our hard labor paid off today, I just love it..
Check back, this room is not finished. I want to replace my storage containers with a large white distressed shabby chic hutch and my paper rack with a side board, my computer desk with a shabby chic piece. I know just the place to get them ...

Beauty In Pink

Some may not know beauty as I see it. I see beauty in a fully loaded box truck with lots of french style furniture. Some may see that same truck and not find the beauty. I find beauty in a well loved, weathered, worn, old chair. Some may see that same chair as junk. I find beauty in the color pink some may just think of pepto-bismal
( my husband ).

Beauty is what ever gives you joy. Hugh Nibly

Beauty is not caused. It is. Emily Dickinson

Beauty is the promise of happiness. Henri B. Stendhal

Craft Love

Yesterday a young lady come into the shop asking my opinion of some really sweet items she has crafted. I felt flattered she would ask me for my opinion, I love crafting of all kinds but since I have had The Vintage Attic all I do these days is run my business. I let the business aspect of it all take over my life. So I am here to say I am taking the control back. I will be running my business but not letting my business run me. I made this decision the beginning of the year, but have not done much about it yet (it’s time). I even ordered a jewelry making kit with all the bells and whistles I will need to do it right. I have been looking for a sewing machine that will do embroidery, ( do they even make those)? Ok it is so easy for me to get off track. About the young girl with the crafted art, I bought one of the items she brought in. I had to show you just how beautiful a vintage ball jar can be, with some imagination. I love this piece, it will be going in my office /craft room along with my vintage toleware chandelier that I pick up at the D.C. Big Flea.

Tanner was in vintage toy heaven...

The day was coming to an end, we was walking down the parking lot tired from all the walking we’’ve done today, then it hit me, I won’’t beable to sleep tonight if I don’’t get that vintage toleware chandelier . I told Jim I have to go back, he said ok I’’ll pull the car up to the front door to pick you up. ( good man). So back across the parking lot I went to retrieve my chandelier. (Its going in my office/craft room)……

Last but not least by far, Ok look past the 70’’s bar it’’s not hers. This lady (Stephanie George) has the coolest vintage art work I have seen at a show. You can check it out on her blog at and she sales on Etsy. The lockers she is moving are sold, I’’ve already checked them out.

Ok I just went and retrieved this picture from her sight, I just had to show you her art incase you don’’t visit her blog.. This is so vintage chic……
